Has zindine Zidane made the right decisoin?
The summer transfer window may be the most important time for soccer managers, as the moves they make then usually determine the team’s performance for the rest of the season. Zidane's decision to sell Morata and keep Benzema was one of the better choices he made this summer. Zidane did not make this decision solely on player performance, but based on the clubs future and team chemistry. Benzema had the edge over Morata because Benzema links with Ronaldo, plays in the wing when Ronaldo moves to striker, and is the better all-around striker.

Benzema and Ronaldo have been playing together for a very long time now, and the two make it clear through the way they link up on the field. Scoring goals is made to look easy at times because of the chemistry they have developed. The two have the ability to intuitively tell what the other has in mind which is what makes the duo so deadly. Forming a new relationship like this with another striker can take years, so this is something the Galacticos manager wants to enjoy while it remains.
Real Madrid consider Cristiano Ronaldo their star player, so linking with him is quite important as was explained earlier. However, Benzema does not only link with Ronaldo, but also moves and plays in the wing for him while Cristiano attacks. Cristiano has been transitioning from winger to striker for the last few years, especially as he has gotten older, and for real Madrid it is critical that their striker is able to move in and out of positions to support Ronaldo. How Benzema does this can only be explained though live examples as demonstrated in the video provided by Om Arvind.
